Case Studies
Ineas.com – operating an online insurer
As an online company, technology is at the forefront of Ineas’s operations. All of Ineas operations and brands work on the single platform in Germany, France, Netherlands and Spain. Ineas customer care centre provides a single view of the customer thereby greatly improving customer relationship management. At Ineas, safeguarding customer information is of the utmost importance. Security across the system is maintained by using the secure sockets layer (SSL) and data encryption. The databases are distributed and mirrored for both scalability and safety. Ineas web sites are hosted in a specialist and secure external centre to ensure that they are available to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The platform which was initially developed for Ineas provides the following benefits:
- A consumer can buy a policy online in a simple three step process. In addition, a customer can manage their insurance online (retrieve a quote and buy, view or change the policy details, renew the policy and/or make or track a claim).
- The platform significantly reduces the costs associated with customer selection, processing and verification.
- Real time data facilitates continuous refinement of the highly-segmented, multi-tiered pricing models, improving underwriting profitability.
- Access to multiple databases provides a single view of the customer, all related transactions and communications as well as detailed information on consumer behaviour.
- Efficient and low cost operations achieved by automated transactions and processes via internet, mobile phone, and help desk (call centre).
Swiftcover.com – successfully implementing an online platform
Swiftcover was a new UK direct insurance initiative from a top team of former Churchill and Direct Line executives. After successful due diligence, Swiftcover purchased the ITS’s online platform for the UK. Swiftcover online insurance operations run entirely on the ITS system. ITS’s technology team implemented the platform with Swiftcover business users in less than six months, enabling the market launch in June 2005. Together, ITS and Swiftcover improved core systems such as the ratings engine to facilitate top class pricing and customer selection. Swiftcover was named General Insurance Website of the Year at the Insurance Times Industry Awards 2005. Swiftcover was acquired by Axa Uk in March 2007 based on its brand, people and platform.
Ladycaronline.de and Animeas.fr – white labeling and factory capability
These websites which are targeted to specific customer groups (women drivers and pet owners respectively) show ITS ability to deliver white labeling solutions to third party insurers. In this case ITS built the products and websites based on its technology and insurance experience. Furthermore ITS runs the factory by providing operational services.
